Tottenham Hotspur’s newest ace, James Maddison, has revealed the story behind his move to Spurs.
“Maddison said Tottenham manager Enze Postecoglou’s confidence in him when discussing a move to Spurs made him want to work with him,” the UK’s Daily Mail reported on Tuesday.
According to the Daily Mail, Maddison appeared on the program ‘A League of Their Own’ and spoke about how Postecoglou convinced him to join the club.레모나토토 주소
“We talked about my style, my position and other details about how I would fit in with the way he plays,” Maddison said, recalling last summer. Maddison was linked with Tottenham after Leicester City were relegated to the second tier last season.
“At the end, he said, ‘I’m glad we spoke,'” Maddison continued. ‘I was happy to have a conversation. But whether you come to Tottenham or not, you’re going to see a completely different Tottenham.” Postecoglou was confident of his and Spurs’ success in front of Maddison.
Maddison recalled how he felt at the time, saying, “I liked the confidence he had in me, saying that I could be part of this team or I could go somewhere else, but Tottenham would be different anyway. Those words stayed with me and made me want to go to Tottenham and play for him.”
Maddison moved to Tottenham for £45 million ($72.5 billion) in the summer transfer window. It was a brilliant move. Along with Son Heung-min, Maddison has established himself as a new pillar of the team, filling the void left by Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich. Maddison has three goals and five assists in 11 league games in the 2023/24 season. He is tied for third in the league in assists.
Maddison has proven himself on the pitch and is doing a great job in his role as vice-captain supporting Son Heung-min. Tottenham is also on the rise thanks to Maddison’s performance. Spurs are unbeaten in 10 league games with eight wins and two draws.
