Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Ji-Hwan Bae put his quick feet to good use, stealing a base and scoring a run.
스포츠토토Bae went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base while starting in the No. 9 spot in the lineup against the Cincinnati Reds on April 23 at Great American Ball Park. Pittsburgh won 7-5.
Bae, who had found his bat the previous day against the Chicago Cubs, going 1-for-3 with a home run, one RBI and one run scored, picked up his late-season pace with back-to-back hits.
After hitting a grounder to second base in his first at-bat in the third inning, Bae lined out to shortstop in his second at-bat in the fifth.
His big hit came in the top of the seventh inning with the score at 4-5. Leading off, Bae lined a two-pitch, 88-mph changeup from right-hander Ian Zibo to right field. The ball was heavily bound and landed in front of Cincinnati second baseman Jonathan India before sailing into right-center field. The play was initially ruled an error, but was later overturned to a hit when it was ruled a hard bound ball that India was unable to handle.

He then stole second to put runners in scoring position when Conor Jo struck out. Bae appeared to be in pain after the head-first slide as his left shoulder took the brunt of the impact, but he got up and continued the play. It was the first time in nine days that Bae added a stolen base since April 14 against the Washington Nationals. His 24th stolen base of the season.
Bae then scored the tying run on a Brian Reynolds single to left field. Pittsburgh tied the game in the top of the seventh when Bae tied the game with a single, stole second and scored on a throwing error by shortstop Eli Dela Cruz, who picked up Miguel Andujar’s grounder to put runners at first and third to make it 6-5. Bae struck out swinging with two outs in the eighth.
Bae is batting .237 (75-for-316) with two home runs, 29 RBIs, 53 runs scored, 24 doubles and a .622 OPS.
