HOUSEHOLDS

What is a household?

A household consists of one or more people who live in the same apartment sharing amenities and accommodations.

What does it mean to “join” a household?

By attaching yourself to a household, you’re joining the household’s members in the search for your next home, or maybe the household has already selected a home, in which case you can start the application process together.

Can I join multiple households?

No, you can only be a member of one household, but you can detach yourself from your current household to join a new one (or create your own) at anytime.

Can I create a household?

Yes! You can absolutely create your own household for other members to join. Simply follow the steps here.

What does it mean to be a Head of Household (HOH)?

When you’re the Head of Household, you are responsible for accepting members, attaching the household to a listing, and submitting a request to the leasing office/landlord for approval.

What is the procedure for getting accepted by a household?

After applying to a household, the head of household will review and either accept or deny your request to join. Once a household is complete, the head of household can start the leasing process, including scheduling a tour of the property and filling out an application.

Can I leave a household?

If you find the household you’ve joined isn’t for you, you are welcome to leave anytime before or during the leasing application process - just make sure you do so before the lease is signed (after that it’s a bit trickier).

I messaged a head of household and never heard back. What’s next?

If you messaged a head of household and never heard back, don’t worry. We recommend that you follow up after within 24-48 hours. If you still haven’t heard back, please contact us.

How do I delete my listing/close a household?
